Hold on, Yom Kippur Is Not the Pinnacle!
After the hard introspective work of the month of Elul, Rosh Hashana, and Yom Kippur, it’s time to celebrate!
I have a friend who lives in the Old City of Jerusalem. She is one of the “go-to” real estate agents for English speakers interested in purchasing homes in Israel. She told me since the pandemic hit, her phone has been ringing off the hook with messages galore, and hundreds are going on her virtual webinars highlighting “English speaking-friendly” community options for people.
She told me 99% of those reaching out are women.
The Torah teaches us that women have a special love for the Land of Israel. When the men gave up and were afraid to enter, they stood strong and later merited the land. On MOMentum trips, the women cry from the moment they step into the airport until the moment they leave. Then they go home and push their husbands out the door to go on MoMENtum.
History is unfolding before our eyes. This is the time to dream about investing in the Holy Land, our homeland. While many head to Miami for a holiday and, as nice as it is, it pales in comparison to experiencing the true Land of our People (not the State of Florida), the one and only Jewish State of Israel. You don’t have to live here in order to own, and you don’t have to own to visit (when travel opens up again) or be part of the building and sustaining our land.
Let the Almighty know what you are dreaming about, and if you can, come and be my neighbor!
After the hard introspective work of the month of Elul, Rosh Hashana, and Yom Kippur, it’s time to celebrate!
We don’t have to be all the same, and in fact, coming together not in spite of our differences but because of our differences is what Hashem has been waiting for all along.
