Sukkot is by far my favorite Jewish holiday, and in Israel, it is the BEST! Simcha (joy) is in the air, and people are building Sukkahs everywhere! The weather is perfect, and the whole country is on holiday. Here, you are the “home team.” Back in Canada and the U.S., we were an oddity, building and dwelling in a “hut,” sometimes when it was snowing!
This is the pinnacle of all of the seasons of holidays— we have done the work— going to freedom, receiving the Torah, introspecting, and reconnecting with G-d— and now: Love and Trust – a celebration of our relationship with our Creator. What could be better? It’s like one big wedding anniversary.
We are blessed that our new young couple, barely three weeks married, just landed, and will spend Sukkot with us. I am so happy I could cry.
Thinking of all of you, as we prepare for 2,000 more Momentum participants ready to land after Sukkot is over.
Bring it on!!
Good Shabbos, Shabbat Shalom, Chag Sameach!!

This year I decided we will have an “all vaccinated” Purim seudah in our home and began inviting friends who I knew had had their shots. But alas, the Ministry of Health has just declared that this too will not happen.
Raising a mensch means teaching our kids what Judaism says about being a good person. Jewish wisdom teaches: praising a child’s ethics, morals, and ideals is more important than praising their academic marks. If our children’s honesty, inclusiveness, and kindness garners the same praise as an A on their report card, our children will develop healthy self-esteem that isn’t tied to their intellect or academic achievements.
