We arrived absolutely exhausted, with many of us traveling for over 24 hours. We felt drained and like we couldn’t possibly get anything out of today but sleep. And then, Eve spoke to us. With perfectly balanced humor and Torah education, she made her point about choosing our paradigm and opting for a positive response. It is, after all a choice, and if practiced enough, it will become a habit. We learned the phrase Baruch Hashem, which is a perfect fit for every situation.
Then we marked the end of Yom Hazikaron with impactful stories of incredibly brave young people lost too soon in the name of protecting Israel. As Jews, we are wrapped in joy, pain, happiness, and sorrow. And that is seen in how we transitioned from this to Israel’s Independence Day, where Israel is turning 75 years. The beacon of hope Israel is to the world, specifically to Jews, is so powerful.
Lastly, we danced for hours. Women who were strangers became within minutes someone who you know in your soul you’ve always known. Welcome home. We have so much to see and do over the next week! Baruch Hashem!
