A Day in the Life of an Israeli MOM: Tiferet Solomon-Sadan
9/11/2023
I wasn’t meant to write to you; you were supposed to hear from Yael Shafir Garibi. But it’s been a month since this war began, and life as we knew it changed forever. It’s been a month which means it’s the 30, so we head up to the graves to visit our beloved lost souls.
So I’m writing to you.
It is truly heartbreaking to visit the grave of a beautiful 25-year-old boy, surrounded by graves of grandparents who lived beautiful lives and died at an appropriate age, surrounded by loved ones.
It’s gut-wrenching thinking he was murdered in the middle of a party, where he came to dance and enjoy life, and instead, he found himself fighting for his and others’ lives. He was murdered because he was a Jew, murdered because they came to slaughter all of us, and he paid the price.
David Yair Shalom, (David Newman) his name means “will light peace”, and they murdered him.
It’s been a month since this nightmare began, homes broken, hearts crushed, lives ruined, people destroyed.
Each of us must cry out and do everything in our power to bring the 240 hostages back!!!! There are 10-month-old babies being held captive, and the world isn’t going up in flames – only it is, and whoever isn’t stopping it from happening – is right there with them, throwing gasoline into the fire.
It’s been a month since the war started, and our lives shattered – we are nowhere near putting them back together – we are still picking up the pieces.

It was so moving– I did not know this man; he did not know my son, but immediately he was willing to make him part of his family.
