Camel riding, pita making, yoga, Dead Sea, and Masada – this was a jam-packed day. There’s a happy, satisfied fatigue that has set in by now with only one day to go. We’ve been running on 6 hours or less (mostly less) of sleep at night. Even when exhausted, we all want to have dinner together, drink wine, and laugh. It’s been like summer camp but in my 40’s. It’s bittersweet because as much as I don’t want it to end, I also know that my body can’t handle this schedule much longer.
This morning’s talk was on embracing unity without uniformity. I honestly believe that’s what the 28 of us have done on this trip. We’re each unique. We are from different age groups and different nationalities. Yet, we feel like one. We look out for each other. We comfort each other. We make one another laugh until our sides hurt.
As we go into our last day here in Israel, I know that we are bonded.
