Keep the Family Together
Nothing makes a parent happier than to see their kids love each other.
I boarded the bus, pashmina, and journal in hand, with the anticipation of what was to come. As a group, we walked into East Tel Aviv, already filled with at least a hundred other women. I felt like I was walking into one of the many Momentum videos that I’ve watched leading up to this trip. That feeling continued as we took group pictures with our pashminas, listened to Lori and Adrienne speak, and, most especially, when hundreds of women danced together with excitement and anticipation.
Tonight kicked off my Momentum journey with a small taste of what will come next week. Adrienne filled us with words of wisdom that left me wanting to hear and explore more. While a lot resonated with me, two things, in particular, are stuck in my mind: First, you don’t feel your soul unless you use it. It sounds so simple, but it’s something that had never crossed my mind. Sure, I exercise my body and my mind, but my soul?! The second thing that struck a chord was how monarch butterflies have a clear destination, but it takes generations to get there. Since they have a short life span, each butterfly only makes it part of the way. Their offspring continue the journey with an internal sonar, eventually leading the fifth generation to the initially planned destination.
It’s impossible not to think about how I am here in Israel, where I was meant to be. Something inside of me knew that I needed this trip and needed to be on this journey at this point in my life. My ancestors began this for me, and my internal sonar led me here today.
I cannot wait for what the next week holds.
