Throwback Trip — excited and nervous at the same time!
In the summer of 2009, 100 women landed in Israel for the very first JWRP (Jewish Women’s Renaissance Project) trip. Over the years, JWRP became Momentum, and by 2019 we were regularly bringing 3,000 participants a year, 600 at a time.
This Tuesday, with special permission from the Israeli government, Momentum will be welcoming 106 Jewish mothers at Ben Gurion airport for a trip of a lifetime. It is an incredible group, including Mothers of Lone Soldiers (whose kids went through a pandemic and a war without them), Healthcare Heroes (doctors, nurses, mental health practitioners), NCSY Moms from Utah, and an awesome group of moms from Philly.
It’s clear why I am excited, as this will be one of the first groups into Israel since 2019, but why am I nervous?
Because I have not led a group since 2019!
These incredible women have gone through so much in the past 18 months, how can I possibly give them all that they need in every way?
Thankfully I have an outstanding team that makes all of this happen, setting me up, G-d willing, for success. With such a comparatively intimate group, we have an opportunity to provide wisdom and inspiration, recognizing the shared trauma and growth opportunities of Covid.
I pray that it is a safe and impactful trip and that I am given the right words, thoughts, and actions from Above. Your prayers are welcome too. Stay tuned for postings along the way!
