Dear Momentum Family–
And you are family.
This morning (3 am in Israel), I saw Sheri Levy, a Momentum Sister in L.A. with JWI, go live online to auction off her famous challah. Sheri did this to support a young man who she knows who stocks shelves in a local grocery store to pay off his student loans, risking his life so that the community could have food.
So many of her Momentum Sisters bid on the challah (I think the winner was well over $100), and she asked them to ‘Venmo’ him money as well. And they did.
While she was auctioning, she was greeting those who were chatting and bidding. She saw that I was up (working — Momentum is exploding online!) and gave me the warmest “shout out.”
L.A. Jerusalem. So far and yet so close.
Because as Lihi Lapid, a member of our Israel Public Council, wrote we are alone, together.
Thank you, Hashem, for giving us this miraculous technology, so that during this “time out” we have each other for constant connection and support. And around the clock, I see chessed, loving-kindness, like what Shari did.
So proud of each and every one of you. My Momentum Family.
Marni Darby was at a crossroads. She just didn’t know it at the time.
“I lost three babies, and I always felt like people were looking at me every time I walked into the synagogue, as if everyone was asking, ‘Where are her kids?’” said Silvia. “I felt so alone, as if I was failing at the most important job a Jewish woman is bound to fulfill.” During her MOMentum trip, Silvia shared her story – and her openness created a safe space for numerous other women who had also battled infertility, suffered pregnancy loss, and endured treatments to speak up as well.
