These women are learning more in eight days on Momentum than eight years in Hebrew School. We have a system of educating our Jewish children that needs to be seriously changed. It is turning out Jews who look at their Bar and Bat mitzvahs as their graduations out of Judaism – instead of what they are supposed to be, which is graduation into Judaism.

Every day on Momentum, light bulbs go off over their heads as the Jewish wisdom we share draws them back to their heritage, which is bursting with meaning and purpose. Yet all I can think of is the millions who will never have this opportunity. And that is why we so need Momentum Living, our new initiative to produce high-quality tools like podcasts and videos that can be shared en masse by our alumni.

I feel very small in the face of what needs to be done so that the Jewish people can fulfill their role as a true light unto the nations. But I know we are on the right track, and it can be done. Please join with us and help us light up G-d’s world.
