Dear Momentum Family–

My husband and I spent two days in the Golan Heights this week, touring and visiting with leaders, especially the Israeli women from the area who have experienced MOMentum.

They were deeply, deeply impacted in many ways. This is what they told us:

• When you have a home, you often look at the things that need to be fixed or upgraded. And then someone comes to visit and tells you how magnificent your home is! That is how some felt seeing Israel through the eyes of the MOMentum women of the Diaspora.
• The Israelis met women from The Golan they had never seen before, and now call them cherished friends. They especially loved the opportunity to bond with Israelis from different levels of Jewish observance, learning from one another.
• The Jews of the Golan pride themselves with the harmony in which religious and secular get along in their communities. They loved that the same atmosphere was found on the MOMentum buses.

Many shared a rise in their Jewish identities, pride, and practice. Being taught that Judaism is “not all or nothing” gave them the path to begin to observe cherished mitzvot that they previously were afraid to try.

All the women are convinced that we need to offer the inspiring and inclusive messaging of MOMentum to all the women of Israel, and how it would transform the country.

We are back in Jerusalem, filled with ideas on how to jumpstart our movement in Israel. Stay tuned!
