Dear Momentum Family–
I was born in Canada, married an American, became a Canadian-American dual citizen, and now have moved to Israel. So how does one mark this week that marked both Canada Day as well as American Independence Day?
Thankfully I was invited by the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem’s International Convention Center to celebrate their July 4th (albeit two days early). Although I only got one “Happy Canada Day” being at the very first Jerusalem celebration of July 4th was quite awesome. In the past, it was held in Tel Aviv, but with the historic U.S. Embassy move to Jerusalem, so too moved the Independence Day festivities.
Fireworks, U.S. Marines, kosher McDonald’s, ambassadors, the Prime Minister, and a brief appearance by the President — all were part of the celebration. And my date was Pamela Claman — we had such fun!
One of the reasons I took the leap and became an American was because The United States is by far the best friend that Israel has in the world. Being in Israel and seeing first hand that bond was both heartwarming as well as inspiring.
May G-d continue to bless all of the countries of my heart.

“You must go on the men’s trip!” were the first words Steven Arenzon’s wife, Robin, said when she returned home from her MoMOMentum Trip to Israel. Steven’s MoMENtum Men’s Trip – which included experiences like celebrating a Bar Mitzvah atop Masada to applying ethical Jewish questions during a visit to the market, led Steven to make Jewish study a greater part of his life, introduced him to a close group of friends, and moved him to become more philanthropic in his community.
