Today, the Israelis are crying for the lost of the heroes that died while fighting for our freedom and the existence of the state of Israel. It’s a very difficult day since we all have a connection to a family that lost someone. We are all a big family as you all, my sisters know. The war made us sensitive to gestures, especially from you all. We thought we were strong enough- but the fact is that your help and support lifted us so many times in the last 7 months!
Today, I want to share a gesture that Traci Portnoff and others did. I got a massage that she wanted to help, and she sent me a package. A mother named Debby shared that her son is a paratrooper serving in Gaza with a group of 130 soldiers. They are all between the ages of 18 and 21 and require special vests for protection. These vests are not the standard issue from the army, as they only protect against small bullets. The vests needed are lined with ceramic, which provides full protection against stronger weapons.
Debby mentioned this and how she is trying to get donations for these vests. Nathalie Riess, one of our educators, mentioned that her husband in Tsfat has been helping with the manufacturing of these vests. As a team, we are making it happen together. The need for 130 vests is not cheap, as each vest costs $580 US dollars.
We are sending this message to ask for your help. The total cost of the vests is $75,400 US dollars, and we are currently at the $18,000 mark. We have been sending out messages to family and friends, where every dollar helps. Nathalie Riess and her husband are helping gather the funds through their Kabbalah Center in Tsfat.
We have a video of a group of soldiers thanking everyone for this effort. We are calling on you, reading this, to be part of saving a young man’s life in the battlefield. You can donate any amount that helps by clicking the link provided. If you want to donate a full vest, costing $580 dollars, you will be literally saving a life.
Together we can make a difference in saving lives. Donations are tax-deductible in the US, and there are many ways to donate, such as via PayPal, credit card on the donation site or transferring funds in Israel.
