Every Day Is a Different Set of Emotions

I am desperately trying to write each day, but it’s so hard. We just go until we collapse of exhaustion. I regret not writing yesterday as it seems like an eternity ago – just like this morning. The long days are catching up to me – to all of us – but we keep going. The journey is now so real and tangible. Every day is a different set of emotions, a different exploration of the world we live in now, and the rich history that surrounds us. I can tell that each woman here is looking inside as they listen to the lectures and the tour guides. Sometimes tears fall, sometimes it’s a silent reflection and other times it’s asking questions. I’ve watched strangers become friends, and old friends form new bonds, and women who live hundreds and thousands of miles away become neighbors.

Are the days long? Yes. Do your feet hurt? Yes. Is it hot? Yes. Is it all worth it – absolutely.

For the first time in my life, I am so excited for Shabbat. Shabbat in Jerusalem. How lucky am I? How lucky are we? I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
