The following is the introduction to the unit on the value of Faithfulness and Trust.
Was there a moment on your Momentum trip when you gazed at Masada or the Sea of Galilee, stood before the Western Wall, met Israelis who are dedicating their lives to others, or contemplated the creation of the modern State of Israel, and experienced a moment of wonder? Emunah is the art of opening our eyes to such soul-awakening moments of wonder and transcendence that are often lost behind the blur and busyness of our everyday lives. It is a deliberate practice of finding moments of transcendence, and then acting on them to live a life of faithfulness to the essence of who we are, to our deepest calling, to God. With such faithfulness, everything we do has a different vibration. We experience Emunah as an anchor, trusting that God is with us (and within us) – through thick and thin. We make courageous decisions because we trust that righteousness and justice will win out. We take extraordinary actions and see beyond the news cycle to partner with God in creating a more perfected world.
On Rosh Hashana, we dedicate ourselves to faithfulness, Emunah. We contemplate the year that has gone by, the improvements we have made in our character and actions, and the challenges that still face us. As the Rosh Hashana tunes and liturgy re-awaken us to our potential, we strive to remain God-conscious and inspired in all our actions in the coming year.
The Journey of Growth book enriches the Momentum Journey. Most partner organizations build on Journey of Growth resources to deepen group learning. Mothers use the book to share learning with friends and family and to bring the learning back to their children.
A copy of the Journey of Growth book is sent to the Partner Organization for each participant, Community Leader and Madricha after the trip. The Journey of Growth is published in English, Russian, Spanish and Hebrew.
